The Japanese battleship Yamato, supposedly, had a compliment of 2800. That means 2800 crew to operate the ship.
My question is... what did they do?
Okay, so you need a captain. And a pilot to turn the ship's wheel. And a guy down in the engine room to keep an eye on the engines. And people do do that at night. So that's what, 6 people? Okay okay maybe you also need a cook and a doctor and night crew for that, so that's 10.
I mean, I understand you need a lot more than 10 people to run a ship the size of the Yamato. The problem is that when I get to about 100-200 people, I start running out of things for people to do.
So, what the hell are these 2800 people doing??
