STORY OF THE RUSSIAN 2ND FLEET (summarized more than my earlier story) a true story btw. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mdi_Fh9_Ag for more! The Russian 2nd Baltic fleet was not in good shape. Cruisers would anchor in the shadow of battleships to allow them to sneak off to shore so the entire crew could get drunk at night. Then the Tzar sent them off to fight Japan in 1905. On the first day, the flagship ran aground, and a destroyer rammed a battleship and had to return to port. In the Baltic sailors began to yell they were all doomed because an entire fleet of japanese torpedo boats were waiting for them east of denmark (note: japan had 5 torpedo boats at this time, all near japan). When they finally got to Denmark, the fleet repeatedly accidentally rammed the coaling boats trying to re-supply them. As a fishing boat approached with a letter from the Tzar, the crew panicked, thinking it a torpedo boat, and the entire fleet opened fire. They all missed. Just west of Denmark, the Kamchatcka signaled they were surroudned by Torpedo Boats and under attack. Nobody could see anything. Later the Kamchatcka reported that after changing course, all the torpedo boats went away. In the North Sea, at night, the fleet came cross a small fleet of British fishing trawlers. Naturally, they opened fire. After a raging battle, the fleet finally sunk something, one of the fishing boats, and damaged 4 other fishing boats. However, during the battle, some of the russian cruisers were fired upon (by the russian battleships) while many crew were injured fighting one another in the dark, yelling the japanese were boarding, and some crew jumped overboard on the grounds that the fleet was sinking. Finally, the fleet existed European waters.
Approaching africa, the Kamchatcka went missing, returning to report it had fired 300 shells at Japanese torpedo boats, oh and also a German, French, and Swedish ship. (It didn't hit anything)
During a storm off West Africa, the Kamchatka, rather than reporting its status during the storm, asked if Torpedo Boats were attacking.
In port in Madagascar, many of the crew began taking drugs, causing talk of revolution, religious fervour, and a nude man wandering the desk speaking of death. Men also died of Malaria, and during one of the funerals, the Kamchatka's guns were fired in salute. With live ammo. That hit a Cruiser.
During battle training, none of the destroyers were able to hit a stationary target. Later in the training, the flagship managed to fire on the boat towing the target.
In the Indian Ocean the Kamchatka sent a signal they were randomly sinking! they were not.
Oh. Also everyone died, or near about, in the battle of Tsushima. rip.
